Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a joining method with which it is possible to join a pierce nut with a laminate obtained by laminating a plurality of plate-like workpieces so as to realize a high joining strength. [Solution] This pierce nut joining method 1 comprises: a first swaging step for circularly punching out a portion of a first plate-like workpiece W1 and then spreading the perimeter of the punched-out portion inside a circumferential hollow part 4 of a pierce nut 1 so as to join the pierce nut 1 with the first plate-like workpiece W1; and a second swaging step for circularly punching out a portion of a second plate-like workpiece W2 and then spreading, at a location inside the circumferential hollow part 4 of the pierce nut 1, the perimeter of the punched-out portion on the outer side of the spread portion W1f of the first plate-like workpiece W1.
