Abstract:
A method of knitting a long annular pile capable of preventing a knitting operation from being obstructed by the contact of a released pile thread with a guide performing the next knitting operation when a hung-on pile thread is released from a pile forming needle and forms a pile, comprising the steps of forming the pile by alternately applying the pile thread onto odd-numbered needles (20a) and even-numbered needles (20b) disposed in the parallel order in a pile forming needle row (2) and allowing the released annular pile (P1) to be pressed by the pile forming thread (21) being knitted in a current knitting step when the pile forming thread (21) is released from a pile forming needle (20) , whereby a stable knitting operation of the annular pile can be provided.
