Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] To provide a method for lighting a plurality of high-pressure discharge
lamps by which the restartable time immediately after unlighting and the rising
time of luminous flux can be shortened. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A regular
lamp and a starting lamp having the rising time of luminous flux shorter than that
of the regular lamp are lighted in combination. The lighting method comprises
a step (step S2) for setting a control mode controlling the lighting conditions
of both lamps based on the time elapsed after previous unlighting of the regular
lamp, and a step (step S3) for designating the lighting of the starting lamp and
the regular lamp according to the control mode thus determined. Each control
mode includes such controls as starting the lighting of both lamps simultaneously,
unlighting the starting lamp when regular lighting state of it is brought about,
and starting the lighting of the starting lamp at first when a significant time
has not yet elapsed after previous unlighting and then starting the regular lamp.
