The invention relates to a method and to a loading station for loading articles (15) from storage containers (4) into order containers (5) by a loader (2) at a loading station (3). In said method, a storage container (4) is conveyed to the loading station (3) by means of a first conveyor belt (6) and is picked up, by means of a load-handling device (22), from a first level (20) on the first conveyor belt (6) and moved to a second level (24) on which the storage container (4) is located in a ready position (25) for the loader (2), who loads articles (15) from a storage container (4) into at least one order container. During the movement between the first level (20) and the second level (24), the storage container (4) is held in a position inclined towards the loader (2), and after a loading process the load-handling device (22), together with the storage container (4), is moved from the second level (24) back to the first level (20) in which the storage container (4) is transferred to the first conveyor belt (6).
