Abstract:

The technical solution is directed toward determining the degree of depletion of oil reservoir formations by identifying stagnant zones (i.e. zones untouched by filtration processes). A method for locating remaining reserves includes: updating the characteristics of cells of a geological and hydrodynamic model; constructing an updated geological and hydrodynamic model; identifying in said updated geological and hydrodynamic model potential zones of concentration of remaining reserves in non-productive zones.
