Abstract:
The invention concerns a method for making carboxylic acids by oxidizing an alkyl hydroperoxide compound. More particularly, the invention concerns oxidation of a cyclohexyl peroxide into an adipic acid with an oxidizing agent containing molecular oxygen or an oxygen-containing gas in the presence of an oxidation catalyst including a metal belonging to the groups of transition metals.
