Abstract:
Provided are: a method for manufacturing a 3,4,5- tricaffeoylquinic acid efficiently, using cheap raw materials with short steps and easy operations; and an intermediate compound. This method for manufacturing a 3,4,5- tricaffeoylquinic acid comprises at least a step (1) of reacting a compound represented by formula (1) or a compound represented by formula (2) with a compound represented by formula (4), and a step (2) of deprotecting the product obtained in step (1) and manufacturing the 3,4,5- tricaffeoylquinic acid.
