Abstract:
Provided is a method for manufacturing aluminoborosilicate glass for drug containers such that evaporation of B2O3 and Na2O can be suppressed by reducing the amount of heat required in a thermal processing step for forming the drug containers. In the method for manufacturing aluminoborosilicate glass for drug containers, the aluminoborosilicate glass for the drug containers is obtained by melting a glass batch that includes an Al charge stock and forming the obtained molten glass. The method for manufacturing the aluminoborosilicate glass for the drug containers is characterized by including an Al-containing natural mineral and an Al-containing chemical as the Al charge stock, and by the mass ratio of Al in the Al-containing chemical/(Al in the Al-containing natural mineral + Al in the Al-containing chemical) being over 0 to 0.9.
