Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a bearing insert for a lower crank case of an engine. The method of the present invention, comprises: a molten metal preparation step of melting an aluminum alloy composition so as to prepare molten metal; a preform preparation step of molding the prepared molten metal so as to prepare a preform corresponding to the shape and size of the bearing insert; a preform heating step of heating the preform at a preset temperature; a bearing insert preparation step of hot forging the heated preform so as to prepare the bearing insert; a trimming step of trimming and removing a flash that is protruded outwardly from the bearing insert that is prepared by the hot forging; and a scratch forming step of shot blasting the bearing inset so as to remove impurities from the surface of the bearing insert and form a fine groove-shaped scratch on the surface of the bearing insert, thus providing a stopper structure to the joint surface of the bearing insert which is to be inserted and joined to the lower crank case. The method of the present invention manufactures the bearing insert using the preform, thus simplifying a manufacturing process.
