Abstract:
A first intermediate molding (60) is forged by pressing an aluminum alloy material (41) in one direction. The first intermediate molding (60) has a first spherical head (62) at one end of a tubular arm section (21), and a flange part (63) at the other end. The flange part (63) is upset-deformed to produce a second intermediate molding (67). The second intermediate molding (67) has a second substantially spherical head (66) at the other end of the arm section (21) and a shaft hole (21a) made in the arm section (21). The first head (62) and the second head (66) are pressed toward a direction substantially orthogonal to the axial direction of the arm section (21) to form a tubular drum section (23) and an outer tubular section (22) thus constituting a suspension arm (2). Productivity can be enhanced while decreasing the number of parts and the strength can be enhanced easily.
