A method of manufacturing an arm, comprising the steps of forming, by forging, a material (31) of generally the same diameter as a first connection part (15) in an area ranging from the center portion to the other end side thereof while one end side is being held, forming a small diameter formed part (32) of generally the same diameter as a height different part (20) and a buckled part (18) at the other end side of the material (31) so as to form a first intermediate formed body (33), forming a second connection equivalent part by increasing, by forming, the diameter of the small diameter formed part (32) toward the end part side from the position corresponding to the buckled part (18) to generally the same diameter as a second connection part (16) so as to form the arm equivalent part forming the buckled part (18) by a portion not formed, and forming an arm part (5) by forming a male screw (17) on the outer peripheral surface of the portion with an increased diameter, whereby the buckled part (18) can be formed surely to a specified length dimension so as to form the arm (5) with a constant buckling strength, and also the buckled part (18) can be formed easily even if the diameter dimensions of the arm (5) at both end parts are different from each other.
