Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for reproducing the image of an original onto hard substrates in order to provide a relief facsimile image, wherein said method comprises the following steps: scanning line by line the surface of the original; generating amplified signals which are proportional to the optical density corresponding to the gradations of halftones in the original characteristics; switching the signals for selecting the gradation of a halftone; carrying out a frequency modulation for determining the operation frequency of the instrument in the selected gradation; carrying out an amplitude modulation in order to determine the upper and lower thresholds of the amplitude spectrum that correspond to the maximal and minimal gradations of halftones; and converting the signals into instrument displacements so as to produce the article. The device for manufacturing the article comprises a reading unit (12) having its output electrically connected to the input of an amplitude modulator (41) through a voltage amplifier (19). The output of the amplitude modulator is connected to the input of a power amplifier (43), and the outputs of said power amplifier are connected to the inputs of an electro-mechanical unit (9) which is in turn connected to the instrument (46). The amplitude modulator (41) includes a regulator (21) for the upper and lower thresholds of the amplitude spectrum. The device further includes a frequency modulator (33) as well as a multi-channel switch (28). The input of the switch (28) is connected to the corresponding output of the voltage amplifier (19), while its outputs are connected to the corresponding inputs of the above-mentioned regulator (21) and frequency modulator (33).
