Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a bearing ring for a rolling bearing includes: a step (S10) for preparing a compact made from a hypereutectoid steel; a step (S30) for forming in the compact an annular heated region that is heated to a temperature equal to or higher than a point A1 by relatively rotating in the circumferential direction of the annular region an induction heating member that performs induction heating of the compact and that is disposed so as to face a part of the annular region in the compact that will be the rolling surface of a bearing ring; and a step (S40) for simultaneously cooling the whole heated region to a temperature equal to or lower than a point MS.
