Abstract:
A method for manufacturing bis(aminomethyl)cyclohexane by hydrogenating xylylenediamine in the presence of a solvent and a catalyst wherein a catalyst, the activity of which has decreased with use, is processed in a catalyst regeneration processing step that includes the following step (1) and step (2) and re-used in a reaction system. Step (1): The quantity of bis(aminomethyl)cyclohexane in a solution prior to step (2) is maintained at no more than 20% by mass. Step (2): The catalyst is heated to 100–500°C and brought into contact with a hydrogen-containing gas.
