Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a new type of method for manufacturing a brake disc for a railway vehicle that can increase the lifespan of the brake disc. To this end, the present invention provides a method for manufacturing a brake disc for a railway vehicle, comprising: a ring rolling process for working a work-piece containing 0.20 to 0.3 wt% of C, 0.4 to 0.7 wt% of Si, 0.35 to 0.80 wt% of Mn, 0.03 wt% or less of P, 0.03 wt% or less of S, 0.5 to 0.01 wt% of Ni, 1.0 to 1.5 wt% of Cr, 0.7 to 1.30 wt% of Mo, 0.3 to 0.01 wt% of Cu, and 0.2 to 0.3 wt% of V, the remainder being Fe, into a ring shape; a primary heat treatment process for performing normalizing heat treatment on the work-piece worked through the ring rolling process; a primary machining process for machining the surface of the work-piece heat-treated in the primary heat treatment process; an inspection process for inspecting for internal flaws of the work-piece, machined in the primary machining process, through a nondestructive inspection; a secondary heat treatment process for performing quenching and annealing heat treatment on the work-piece inspected in the inspection process; and a secondary machining process for machining the work-piece into the final disc shape.
