Abstract:
A method for manufacturing butanediols, via 3-hydroxybutyryl-CoA, by utilising microorganisms and/or a culture thereof, and employing enzyme reactions that use acyl-CoA reductase. The method for manufacturing butanediols is characterised in that the acyl-CoA hydrolase (EC 3.1.2.-) activity of the microorganisms is eliminated or reduced.
