Abstract:
To simplify the manufacturing process and reduce the manufacturing costs. A method for manufacturing a ceramic heater-type glow plug (1) provided with a ceramic heater (11), a metal outer cylinder (12) having one end holding the ceramic heater and the other end being inserted into and fixed in a metal housing (14), and a lead wire (13) connected to the ceramic heater so as to energize the ceramic heater, wherein the method for manufacturing a ceramic heater-type glow plug (1) has: a step for forming a metallized layer (116) on the region of the ceramic heater that is connected to the lead wire, a step for press-fitting at least the metallized layer of the ceramic heater into a connection bracket (18) for connecting the ceramic heater and the lead wire; and a step for heating the ceramic heater and the connection bracket at a temperature at which the material forming the metallized layer reaches a semi-molten state, and performing bonding by mass transfer between the solid layer of the metallized layer and the connection bracket.
