Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a cutting tool having a honing surface 15 at an intersecting ridge line between a rake surface and a flank surface forming a cutting blade, by irradiating with a laser beam L a tool main body having a curved cutting blade 13 at one portion of a cutting blade. In this method the laser beam L is moved along the curved cutting blade 13 while rotating the laser beam in direction away from/toward the curved cutting blade 13, and forming the honing surface 15 of the curved cutting blade 13 with a portion of the trajectory of rotation, thereby reducing deviation in the shape of the honing surface due to the position of the cutting plate and damage due to laser heat.
