Abstract:
[Problem] To prevent the generation of burrs at the tip of a swaged part in a method for manufacturing a cylinder device wherein swaging of an aperture end is performed by means of a roller that moves in the radial direction. [Solution] Each roller (55) is moved in the radial direction, bending the entire perimeter of the aperture end of an outer tube (2) inward, after which the rollers (55) are moved upward and removed, and then the rollers (55) are moved in the radial direction; therefore, by removing the rollers once, it is possible for the outer circumferential surface (68A) of the rollers (55) to move inward over burrs (73) formed by the first movement, and thus it is possible to prevent the generation of burrs (protrusions) (73) at the tip of a swaged part (72).
