Abstract:
A method for manufacturing degradable paper mulches using cotton stalks, comprising the following steps: (1) cutting cotton stalks into segments; (2) conveying the segments into a steaming bin for pre-steaming, and then conveying same to a continuous digester for cooking; (3)conveying the cooked segments into a twin-screw pulping machine for kneading and fiber separation so as to obtain coarse pulp; and (4) performing washing, beating, digestion, and residue removal on the coarse pulp in step (3), and then conveying the obtained pulp to a papermaking machine to make paper mulches. The method can achieve high papermaking efficiency of 90-95%; wastewater produced in the system has a high b/c ratio and is easy to biodegrade, and a biological treatment method can be used; the manufactured paper mulches contain a large amount of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, and therefore can provide nutrients for the growth of cotton after being degraded; as compared with conventional plastic mulches, 1/3 of the costs can be saved.
