Abstract:
The problem addressed by the present invention is decreasing the size of a fiber spinning die 1 used in manufacturing ultrafine fiber nonwoven fabric and thereby improving productivity for ultrafine fiber nonwoven fabric. The spinning die 1 is substantially cuboid, and is constituted of a plurality of nozzle holes 2 disposed in the longitudinal direction on the longitudinal lower end of the spinning die 1, and a slit for spraying hot air provided only on one side of the nozzle holes 2. A thermoplastic polymer is discharged from the nozzle holes 2 of this spinning die 1, and ultrafine fibers are obtained. This slit 4 provided only on one side of the nozzle holes 2 is made to spray hot air. Thereby, the ultrafine fibers that are discharged are sprayed at an inclination with respect to the direction of the axial line of the nozzles. The sprayed ultrafine fibers are drawn downward from the spinning die 1 and deposited. Thus, ultrafine fiber nonwoven fabric is obtained.
