Abstract:
Provided is a method for manufacturing a new electrolytic cell by incorporating a laminate including an electrolysis electrode and a new separator or incorporating only a new separator into an existing electrolytic cell provided with a positive electrode, a negative electrode facing the positive electrode, and a separator disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, wherein, in the area of the new separator corresponding to the area within the range of a positive electrode-side gasket and a negative electrode-side gasket which are composed of frames facing each other in the electrolytic cell, a separator in which As/Ai is more than 0.87 and less than 1.1 is used as the new separator in the electrolytic cell where Ai is the area which is balanced with an equilibrium liquid when the new separator has been incorporated into the electrolytic cell and As is the area which is balanced with an aqueous solution after the electrolytic cell is operated.
