Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a method for manufacturing an electronic display board, and a method and apparatus for polishing an electronic display board, that allow the surface of a light-transmitting substrate used for a liquid crystal display or an organic EL display to be chemically polished until the substrate becomes thin enough to be bendable, while allowing the polishing amount to be adjustable for each surface of the light-transmitting substrate.
[Solution] A method for manufacturing an electronic display board constituted by laminating an electronic element that provides a projection area for an image, and a light-transmitting substrate as a base material, the method comprising: a step of placing and securing an electronic element to the light-transmitting substrate; a step of laminating and securing a light-transmitting substrate with a different thickness at a location allowing the electronic element to be sandwiched; a step of applying a chemical polishing liquid to the laminate for melt and polishing; and a step of cleaning the laminate subjected to the melt and polishing. The chemical polish step continues until either one of a pair of the light-transmitting substrates with different thicknesses melts and disappears.
