Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a method for manufacturing a fiber-reinforced resin molded article with which it is possible, when molding a fiber-reinforced resin base material containing a matrix resin by heating and pressurizing, to obtain a molded article excellent in accuracy and quality without using a large apparatus and in a simple operation.
[Solution] A fiber-reinforced resin base material 1 obtained by adding a matrix resin to reinforcement fibers is arranged on an inner surface of a lower mold 3, a core space part 5 of the mold in which the fiber-reinforced resin base material 1 has been arranged is filled with a powder mixture 2a composed of thermally expandable micro capsules and other powder and having fluidity, the lower mold 3 and an upper mold 4 are sealed together and then heated to a thermal expansion start temperature or more and a maximum expansion temperature or less of the thermally expandable capsules to cause the thermally expandable capsules to expand, and the fiber-reinforced resin base material 1 is pressed onto the inner surface of the lower mold 3 to manufacture a molded article.
