Abstract:
Provided is a method for manufacturing a filler tube having a flange by which bonding strength of a welding surface can be increased. In a flange 31c, a first end surface 31c1 to be welded to a fuel tank 10, an outer peripheral surface 31c2, and a second end surface 31c3 are formed by a material of an outermost layer 55 of a cylindrical material. By setting a movement speed of divided molds 123 and 124 at a first speed when the cylindrical material is brought into intimate contact with portions of the divided molds 123 and 124 where a cylindrical body 31b is to be molded, the cylindrical body 31b is caused to have a prescribed thickness in a radial direction thereof. By setting a movement speed of the divided molds 123 and 124 at a second speed lower than the first speed when the cylindrical material is brought into intimate contact with portions of the divided molds 123 and 124 where the flange 31c is to be molded, a thickness in the radial direction of the flange 31c is made greater than the thickness in the radial direction of the cylindrical body 31b and a range Q to be welded to the fuel tank 10 in the radial direction of the flange 31c is filled with material forming the flange 31c.
