Abstract:
The purpose of the present disclosure is to provide a method for manufacturing a novel fluoropolymer. The present disclosure relates to a method for manufacturing a fluoropolymer, which includes a step for obtaining a fluoropolymer by polymerizing fluoromonomers in an aqueous medium in the presence of a polymer (1) that contains a polymerization unit (1) based on a monomer represented by general formula (1). CX2=CY(-CZ2-O-Rf-A) (1) (In the formula, Xs are the same or different and are -H or -F; Y is –H, -F, an alkyl group, or a fluorine-containing alkyl group; and Zs are the same or different and are –H, -F, an alkyl group, or a fluoroalkyl group. Rf is a fluorine-containing alkylene group containing 1 to 40 carbon atoms or a fluorine-containing alkylene group containing 2 to 100 carbon atoms and an ether bond. A is -COOM, -SO3M, or -OSO3M (M is -H, a metal atom, -NR7 4, imidazolium that may include a substituent, pyridinium that may include a substituent, or phosphonium that may include a substituent, and R7 is H or an organic group. However, at least one of X, Y, and Z contains a fluorine atom.)
