Abstract:

The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a foam molded article with which the occurrence of surface bulges and wrinkles can be suppressed even if the thickness of the molded article is reduced, and with which a foam molded article having superior heat insulation can be manufactured without increasing the amount of material used. This method for manufacturing a foam molded article comprises: a step for injection-molding a molten resin including a supercritical fluid or a chemical foaming agent and filling the molten resin into a cavity within a metal mold having a movable part; and a step for moving the movable part to expand the capacity of the cavity before the molten resin filled into the cavity has finished solidifying. In the metal mold, first linear portions in which the cavity interval is wide and second linear portions in which the cavity interval is narrow are disposed alternately along a direction from a resin injection port toward the end of the cavity.
