Title:
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING GLASS PANEL UNIT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/003829
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a method for manufacturing a glass panel unit in which pillars arranged on a first panel or a second panel are less likely to move during the discharge of a gas from an internal space. A method for manufacturing a glass panel unit (10) comprises an adhesive agent arrangement step, a pillar arrangement step, an assembly formation step, a bonding step, a pressure reduction step and a sealing step. In the pressure reduction step, a gas in an internal space (500) is discharged from an exhaust port (700) through valves by the action of a given suction force to reduce the pressure in the internal space (500). The valves include a first valve (921) through which a gas can pass at a first flow path area and a second valve (922) through which a gas can pass at a second flow path area that is larger than the first flow path area, wherein the first valve (921) and the second valve (922) are arranged in parallel with each other. The pressure reduction step includes a first pressure reduction step which is carried out firstly and a second pressure reduction step which is carried out subsequently. The first valve (921) is opened and the second valve (922) is closed in the first pressure reduction step, and the first valve (921) is closed and the second valve (922) is opened in the second pressure reduction step.
