Abstract:
Provided is a method of manufacturing a glass substrate for an information recording medium such that when a glass substrate for an information recording medium is sucked by a suction section, the risk is low that there are large increases in the numbers of foreign objects which stick to, and flaws which occur on, the surface of the glass substrate for the information recording medium. Also provided is a suction implement which easily removes the glass substrate for the information recording medium from a polishing pad in a polishing apparatus. Said suction implement (1) is equipped with a suction pad (32). The suction pad (32) is equipped with a center hole (32a) and a groove (32b) which extends from the center hole (32a) to the outer peripheral end of the abutting pad (32).
