Abstract:
Provided is a method for manufacturing a hollow structure, comprising: providing a multi-layer sheet structure, each layer of the multi-layer sheet structure having a bonding part and a non-bonding part, adjacent layers being fixedly bonded together at the bonding parts; heating the multi-layer structure to a temperature which melts at least some of the layers of the sheet; and at this melting point, using liquid to pressurise adjacent layers such that the multi-layer structure changes shape to form a hollow structure in which adjacent layers are fixedly bonded together at the bonding parts and non-bonding parts form a cavity. This method can be used for manufacturing turbine blades.
