Abstract:
This method for manufacturing a honeycomb filter comprises: (a) a step for deformation of one end surface side of a green honeycomb structure having a plurality of flow paths extending from the one end surface to the other end surface and for sealing openings in part of the flow paths on the one end surface side; (b) a step for drying the green honeycomb structure; and a second opening sealing step following step (b) for supplying a filler material from the other end surface side of the flow paths that were not sealed and sealing the openings at the other end surface side of the flow paths that were not sealed. In step (b), the green honeycomb structure is dried such that the dryness factor for the green honeycomb structure is 95% or greater.
