Abstract:
A method for manufacturing an intermittently-fixed tape core, said method having: a step in which an uncured coating material is coated so as to intrude between multiple optical fibers and is cured, thereby collectively covering the multiple optical fibers with the coating material; and a step in which, while feeding the collectively covered multiple optical fibers in the longitudinal direction at a velocity V1, multiple rotating blades arranged in a line in the width direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction are used to cut the coating material located between the multiple optical fibers at prescribed intervals in the longitudinal direction. The velocity V1 is greater than the peripheral velocity V2 of the rotating blades.
