Abstract:

A method of manufacturing iron carbide comprising a first reaction control operation in which a part of a reduction reaction is carried out, and a second reaction control operation in which the remaining part of the reduction reaction and a carbonization reaction are carried out, specifically, a method capable of promoting the formation of iron carbide, wherein the first reaction control operation for effecting a part of the reduction reaction of an iron-containing raw material is carried out in a fluidized bed reactor (19), a second reaction control operation for effecting the remaining reduction reaction and carbonization reaction being carried out in a fluidized bed reactor (39), carbon or carbon-containing gas being added to a reaction gas in the fluidized bed reactor (39).
