Title:
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A LEATHER CASE FOR AN ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC PRODUCT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/023659
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a leather case for an electrical/electronic product. According to the present invention, a method for manufacturing a leather case for storing and protecting an electrical/electronic product of a predetermined shape comprises the steps of: liming salted leather to remove hair and form swelled leather; turning and dehydrating the swelled leather at 40°C; stitching the leather into a desired form; and press-forming the stitched leather (having 5-60% moisture) into a correct shape in a 3D leather molding and forming press (at 40-50°C). After the press-formed leather has a curing agent applied thereon, it is heat-treated at 60-80°C and shaped into a desired form using other processes. The following processes are included in the method: completely drying the leather at room temperature (i.e. at 18-25°C); forming the dried and press-formed leather into a desired shape using other processes; and performing the application of a desired design pattern and dye-coating on the outer surface and inside of the formed product, which firstly results in the product being overall very high-grade as it is made of pure natural leather, and the exterior of the product being very simple yet aesthetically appealing, so as to satisfy the discerning tastes of modern consumers. Thus, an electrical/electronic product that is stored in the case can be afforded a higher value. Since natural leather is very durable, the shape of the product is maintained for a long period of time, and the shape is not deformed by external impacts, enabling the safe protection of electrical/electronic products. Secondly, damage to the surface of a stored electrical/electronic product is prevented, and sufficient shape retention can be achieved with a small amount of leather, thus enabling a reduction in costs. Thirdly, manufacture is made easy, and workability is improved, rendering mass production possible.
