Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a leather cover comprising the following steps: cutting an inter-joinable initial leather fabric into a plurality of leather fabric pieces according to the size of a device to be covered; compression-molding the plurality of cut leather fabric pieces to correspond to the shape of the device; forming adhesion surfaces that correspond to the inter-joinable surfaces of the plurality of compression-molded leather fabric pieces using micro-maching, so that when the plurality of leather fabric pieces are interjoined, the overall thickness thereof is uniform; bonding the plurality of leather fabric pieces by interposing adhesive on the adhesion surfaces thereof and pressing thereon to join each other; planarizing the adhesion surface of the cover, which has been inter-joined through the bonding step, by micro-maching; and surface dye-coating in such a manner that the joined surfaces are not externally exposed, by coating the outer surface of the planarized leather cover. The present invention has the following effects: first, surface dye-coating occurs after the cover has been completed, which enables the joined surfaces to be hidden and unexposed to the outside, resulting in simple and attractive outer appearance, through which the marketability can be enhanced; and second, the complete absence of gaps and height difference between the leather fabric pieces provides simple and attractive outer appearance, which also enhance the marketability thereof.
