Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a light-alloy wheel for a vehicle, comprising the steps of forming an outer rim forming material by forging or casting, separating the portion of the outer rim starting at the hump to the bead seat thereof from a part of a rim flange precursor (2a), tilting that portion in the lateral inner direction of the wheel to form a bead seat precursor (12a), and joining by welding the bead seat precursor to the top or side face of a rim well rise part precursor (5b). The outer surface of the precursor is machined to finish to a normal shape and an annular hollow part (8) is formed on the lower surface of the bead seat part.
