Abstract:
The present invention relates to a dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma reactor having a COx hydrogenation catalyst bed provided in the discharge region thereof, and a method for manufacturing a light hydrocarbon from a COx-containing gas mixture in the DBD plasma reactor. A COx hydrogenation catalyst in the DBD plasma reactor for hydrogenation of COx comprises a catalytically active ingredient on a meso-porous support, which is a dielectric substance. The use of the DBD plasma reactor for hydrogenation of COx according to the present invention makes it possible to prepare byproduct gas or waste gas into higher value-added chemical products, without additionally supplying external heat.
