Abstract:
To compensate for the irreversible capacity of a lithium ion secondary cell and enhance energy density. A method for manufacturing a lithium ion secondary cell, having: a step for readying a positive electrode, a negative electrode having an operating potential of 1 V or below on a Li/Li+ basis, and a non-aqueous electrolyte containing a Li salt and phosphite triester; a step for sealing the positive electrode, the negative electrode, and the non-aqueous electrolyte into an exterior body; and a step for performing charging until the potential of the positive electrode reaches 4.3 V or higher on a Li/Li+ basis to cause the phosphite triester to decompose, and causing the negative electrode active material of the negative electrode to adsorb Li ions in the non-aqueous electrolyte.
