Abstract:

The present invention is a method for manufacturing a machine part having a rotationally symmetric surface and is provided with a step for machining a rotationally symmetric surface by feeding a linear or curved cutting edge while bringing same into contact with a cutting point of the rotationally symmetric surface. The machining step comprises a step for determining the track of the cutting edge and a step for feeding the cutting edge along the track. The determination step determines the track according to conditions such that: (1) a first end of the cutting edge is positioned at a cutting initiation position of the rotationally symmetric surface; (2) N regions (N being an integer of at least 2) into which the cutting edge is divided contact the rotationally symmetric surface sequentially; (3) in cross-sections of the rotationally symmetric surface comprising the Z-axis, which is the rotation axis line, and the cutting points, first slopes that correspond to the slopes of the tangents of the N regions at the respective cutting points are equal to second slopes that correspond to the target slopes of the tangents that pass through the cutting points and contact the rotationally symmetric surface; and (4) the second end of the cutting edge is positioned at a cutting completion position of the rotationally symmetric surface.
