Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: a master formed by uniformly superimposing a bumpy microstructure and a bumpy macrostructure; and an optical body. [Solution] A method for manufacturing a master, said method including: a step in which a periodic bumpy microstructure, the bumps of which have an average period not exceeding the wavelength of visible light, is formed on the surface of a master body comprising a substrate; a step in which an inorganic resist layer is formed on the surface of the master body; a step in which an organic resist layer is formed by atomizing and spraying an organic resist, which is dissolved in a diluent, on the inorganic resist layer, said organic resist layer being provided, on the surface thereof, with a bumpy macrostructure, the bumps of which have average period that is greater than the wavelength of visible light, a step in which the bumpy microstructure and the bumpy macrostructure are superimposed and formed on the surface of the substrate by etching the organic resist layer, the inorganic resist layer, and the master body.
