Abstract:
The proposed method involves laying an intermediate patterned substrate (4) of a substance which absorbs laser light onto a rigid base (1). The pattern of the substrate (4) corresponds precisely to the topology of the matrix to be produced. A continuous layer (5) of gel is then applied to the intermediate substrate (4), the chosen gel and base (1) material being transparent to laser light. The gel layer (5) is irradiated with a laser beam and exposed so as to allow gel to evaporate at sites on the substrate (4) of laser-absorbing substance simultaneously with that same substance; on each of the gel sections (2) thus formed an oligonucleotide from the selected set is fixed. The method is intended for use in biotechnology, preferably in the determination of DNA nucleotide sequences.
