Abstract:
Provided is a method to obtain mayenite-containing oxides that contain a mayenite-type compound and have a hydride ion density of 1 × 101
8/cm3 or greater, without requiring expensive equipment, the control of complex reaction conditions, and long reaction times. The method is achieved by a method for manufacturing mayenite-containing oxides that comprises a sintering step, in which a starting material consisting of CaO:Al2O3 = 9:10‑14.5 mole ratio by oxides is heated at 900‑1300°C to yield a sintered powder, and a hydrogenation step, in which the aforementioned sintered powder is sintered at not less than 1210°C and less than 1350°C in a hydrogen-containing gas with an oxygen partial pressure of 1000 Pa or less to yield a mayenite-containing oxide that contains a mayenite-type compound and has a hydrogen ion density of 1 × 101
8/cm3 or greater, and a method for manufacturing conductive mayenite-containing oxides that contain a conductive mayenite-compound, in which the resulting mayenite-containing oxide is irradiated with ultraviolet radiation, or the like.
