Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a mechanical timepiece, comprising the steps of measuring a timing rate with the initially assembled movement (400) disposed in a plurality of 'Vertical Positions', calculating the total adjustment amount of a timed annular balance (140) based on the timing rate measurement results, calculating, based on the calculated results of the total adjustment amount of the timed annular balance (140), the balance spring (140c)'s vibration length that must be adjusted, and then, based on the calculated results of the balance spring (140c)'s length that must be adjusted, vibrating a balance spring control piezoelectric element (454) arranged in contact with the hair spring (140c) so that an effective length over which the hair spring (140c) is vibrated, is adjusted.
