Abstract:
In order to provide a method for manufacturing a metal modeled object whereby spatter can be reduced, the present invention provides a method for manufacturing a metal modeled object, comprising supplying heat to a metal powder in a chamber using energy rays in the presence of a shielding gas supplied to the periphery of the metal powder, modeling a metal layer, and layering the metal layer, wherein the mass per unit volume of the shielding gas at a temperature of 25°C and a pressure of 0.1 MPa is 1.30 × 10-3 g/cm3 or less.
