Provided is a method for manufacturing molten iron in which a raw material and a reducing agent are charged into a melter-gasifier and oxygen is blown to manufacture molten iron, and a reducing gas is supplied to a reducing furnace to reduce iron ore, so as to stabilize the flow of molten material and the reducing gas by improving a coal charging structure in the melter-gasifier. The method for manufacturing molten iron comprises: a raw material preparation step of preparing a raw material; a reducing agent preparation step of preparing a first reducing agent that is preliminarily carbonized by a reducing agent and a second reducing agent that is not preliminarily carbonized, so as not to be mixed with each other; and a charging step of charging the raw material and the reducing agent into a melter-gasifier, wherein the charging step comprises a separate charging step of charging the first reducing agent and the second reducing agent into the melter-gasifier so as not to be mixed with each other.
