Abstract:
A method for manufacturing an optical information medium having a surface which is excellent in abrasion resistance, wear resistance, antifouling property and lubricity at low cost is disclosed. A method for manufacturing an optical information medium (1) having at least a recording layer (7), a light-transmitting layer (8), a hard coat layer (9) and surface layer (10) sequentially provided on a supporting substrate (2) in this order comprises a step wherein an uncured hard coat layer is formed on the light-transmitting layer (8) by applying a hard coat material composition containing an active energy beam curing component, a step wherein an uncured surface layer is formed on the uncured hard coat layer by forming a film of a surface layer material containing an active energy beam curing component which has lubricating and/or antifouling function, and a step wherein the uncured hard coat layer and the uncured surface layer are irradiated with an electron beam and then with an ultraviolet light so that they are cured to form the hard coat layer (9) and the surface layer (10).
