Abstract:
Provided is a novel packaging container and a method for manufacturing the container. A packaging container molded so that a web-like packaging material is molded into a tube shape using a vertical seal, the interior of the tube is filled with a liquid, and sequential crosswise seals are applied while the tube is shifted in angular increments of 45° relative to the center of the tube in the transverse direction of the tube, and the tube is molded into a packaging unit and folded along fold lines, wherein a top wall (31) and a bottom wall (33) are substantially horizontal when the container is stood upright, the rectangular top wall is disposed so as to be rotated by being twisted by an angle of 45° relative to the rectangular bottom wall in plan view, each angular point of the top wall forms two ridgelines with the two angular points of the neighboring bottom wall, and the side walls (32) of the packaging container main body are formed by the mutual arrangement of four triangular side walls and four inverted-triangular side walls.
