Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a phase difference film and a device for manufacturing a phase difference film, the method having: a step for applying and drying an alignment-layer-forming material on a continuously conveyed continuous film support and forming a first coating membrane; a step for radiating polarized ultraviolet rays to the first coating membrane in a state in which the continuous film support is wound on a backup roll in which the in-plane deviation of the front reflectance of the surface thereof is 1 percentage point or less, and forming an alignment layer provided with an alignment regulating force with respect to a liquid crystal compound; a step for applying and drying a liquid-crystal-layer-forming material including a liquid crystal compound on the alignment layer and forming a second coating membrane; and a step for aligning the liquid crystal compound in the second coating membrane, fixing the alignment, and forming a liquid crystal layer.
