Abstract:
Pipes having different kinds of branches can be efficiently and integrally molded using a synthetic resin by utilizing and taking advantage of a conventional pipe molding method which uses a floating core. A method of manufacturing a pipe having a branch, the method comprising: a step of, after injecting a molten resin both into a main cavity (4) having at one end a pressurizing port (2) provided with a floating core (1) and at the other end a first discharge opening (3) and into a branch cavity (5) communicating with the main cavity (4) and having at an end a second discharge opening (6) which can be opened and closed, forcing a pressurized fluid into both the main and branch cavities from the pressurizing port (2) to move the floating core (1) to the first discharge opening (3) side and to extrude the molten resin from the first discharge opening (3) to thereby form a main-pipe hollow section; and a step of, after the main-pipe hollow section reaches a portion at which the branch cavity (5) and the main cavity (4) communicate with each other, opening the second discharge opening (6) to allow the pressurized fluid to extrude the molten resin out of the second discharge opening (6) to form a branch-pipe hollow section.
