Abstract:
The invention relates to metallurgy and can be used for manufacturing materials for the car industry, building industry, aircraft industry and other industries. The inventive method includes the following steps: mixing a metal with an expanding agent, obtaining a material containing said expanding agent and treating the said material thermally. Before the mixing step, the metal is melted and the expanding agent is injected into the molten metal. This mixture of the metal and the expanding agent is pulverized and the pulverized particles of the mixture containing the expanding agent are then cooled. The steps of mixing, pulverizing of the mixture and cooling of the mixture particles take place during a period of time which excludes thermal decomposition of the expanding agent. The material containing the expanding agent thus obtained has the form of particles of the mixture, which are not bonded or at least weakly bonded between them. The thermal processing of the said material containing the expanding agent, which aims at producing a porous metal, is conducted after and/or during the manufacturing step, the material containing the expanding agent and having the form of a plurality of particles or a high density blank. The invention makes it possible to increase the output of a ready product and widens the range of porous articles thus obtained.
